Welcome to Yamhill County

Yamhill County isn't one housing market, it's several. The cities, towns, and rural stretches scattered across the county each operate on their own terms, even when they're just a few miles apart.

For most buyers, the bigger question isn't which house to look at first. It's which part of the county actually fits your life.

Whether you're drawn to a corridor city, a quiet western valley town, or something more rural, you're looking at meaningfully different inventory, access, and buying conditions in each.

Yamhill County sits in the northern Willamette Valley, about 30 miles southwest of Portland. Washington County borders it to the north, Polk County to the south, and the Coast Range foothills rise along its western edge.

Two routes do most of the work moving people through the county: Highway 99W runs north–south through Newberg, Dundee, and McMinnville, while a web of county roads connects the western towns and rural areas back to McMinnville.

That geography matters more than people expect. Depending on where you land in the county, you might feel like you're in the outer orbit of Portland — or you might feel like you're somewhere else entirely.
